Where did you go?

Florence, Italy.

What class did you enjoy most and why?

Health and Sickness in Medieval Italy – it was the only class I took and it was great because we studied everything in Florence and surrounding Tuscany related to the medieval Black Death!

What is something that took you by surprise?

That iced coffee literally does not exist in the country of Italy.

What is something that you wish you knew before going?

I wish I knew more conversational Italian.

Any advice to future study abroad students? (Can be specific to your location or about the process in general)

Don’t go to just the American areas/nightlife while you’re there- but definitely go at least once. Striking the right balance between tourist-y places and niche, authentic areas is key.
