Performance of Shelter

On June 21st at 6pm, the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage program will be featuring Shelter, a theatrical performance based upon interviews with unaccompanied, undocumented child minors that the playwright, Marissa Chibas, conducted and stories published in Susan Terrio‘s book, Whose Child am I? Unaccompanied, Undocumented Children in U.S. Immigration Custody (University of California, 2015). The play depicts stories drawn from the experiences of unaccompanied youth refugees and includes stylized depictions of violence and adult themes.
